Zack and me in Florianopolis, I like this picture.

looking over houses on Floripa

Carnaval floats

Zack looking kingly

me looking...?

Carnaval parade of cross-dressers. These 'fairies' were my favorite! They were dancing along to Barbie Girl and the Portuguese version of I Will Survive. One of them actually tapped a guy on the head with his wand. It was awesome.

more Carnaval parade and cross-dressing

men dressed in Middle East garb ( you'd sure never see that in the US these days)

this guy was dancing on top of a float, and drenching himself in beer. He even posed for our picture! I felt a little embarassed for him, but he seemed to be enjoying himself.

girls dressed like cops

this was a Brazillian band covering American and British classic rock songs. They were reading the lyrics off a sheet and no one in the crowd seemed to really understand what they were singing along to, but Zack and I enjoyed it. They played "You Shook Me All Night Long" so that made my night at Carnaval ;)!

another strikingly beautiful beach, about 2 hours before it became gray and rainy

Zack saying, what's up?

Us about to get our swim on!

Me strutting towards the water right before I discover how cold it is!

suco de abacaxi (pineapple) very nice

storms a brewin

before hiking the mountain in Havaianas (the Brazillian flip-flop monopoly)

views from the top!!

happy we made it. It was pretty steep, and we were wearing flip flops, but it only took about an hour, the weather was perfect (totally overcast-no damn sun!), and the view was truly breathtaking.

that's the same beach we started hiking from. Yes, it was that far up.

our dinner later-peixe com molho de camarao, camarao fritos, arroz, e limao- it was gooood!

the day we went dune-boarding. Someone took a spill.

Us about to try it out- it actually wasnt too hard and we had a good time. Live footage is available on Zack's blog at www.gooninbrazil.blogspot.com

different beach, different day, Zack wanted to bury me in sand so I agreed. Then I buried him back :)

yeah, we were in the wealthy area of Florianopolis that day!

the future address of our 5th vacation home for weekends :).
