Hey y'all, here's what's up so far

Hey everyone,
We made it to Brazil. Pictures are coming later. We landed in Rio, stayed in Sao Paulo for a few days, and now we are settled with some friends in Curitiba. It's nice here, very clean. I found some Portuguese classes for beginners, so I'm going to learn Portuguese a little faster. Zack's classes don't start till March, so we have some time to do whatever. My classes are okay, psychology, accounting, American Government, and macroeconomics. I must say, they are a little boring, since two of them I've already taken in high school and the other two are kind of dry. But they don't take up too much time, so it should be fine.

Everyone is nice here. I don't feel too foreign. It's just strange not to be able to speak as quickly and expressively as I'm used to. But I'll get there. They have alot of American shows on tv and they have an MTV Brasil all in Portuguese.

So far, the only things I miss about America is the free tap water (we are told not to drink tap water here, so we have to buy it) and my job a little. Other than that, I like it here. People are not so uptight and don't take life so seriously, it seems. And the women here wear nice flowey things and hippy type jewelry. I'm going to go broke on the hippy jewelry. They bargain with you, but I feel bad to do it because I feel like I'm being cheap. I got a cool acai bean necklace for the equivalent of $4. Everything is cheap here, compared to the US. On Sundays, the movie theatre (like the "cheap" theatre at home) is only 50 cents! The only exception to this is the second hand clothing store, which is actually more expensive than at home. Don't know why. Probably they get more business.

Pictures coming soon.
