Soccer Pictures and What's New

Here are some soccer pictures from one of the games before. They are from both our cameras, so that's why there's alot, but I think they are good. Nothing much new going on here, I am nearly done with this semester of classes and hopefully will be starting an an 8 week Western Civ II class after these end. I wanted to do 3 or 4, but out of the ones available online, only Western Civ wasn't full. I can see it as a blessing, though, because it gives me more time to enjoy the last few weeks of Brazil and settle back home without having to worry so much about being near a computer.

Portuguese classes are still going well. I went to one of the Friday events last week and learned how to dance forro (pronounced fo-ho). It was alot easier than I thought, and hopefully, I'll be able to go with some people on the weekends. It's a really simple dance, but it looked like you could do some really cool and complicated stuff with it (sort of like swing, tango, etc.). So, yes, anyone reading this who wants to go, come find me!

In one week, it will be Zack's and my "anniversary". We will have been together 3 years. Wow! Hopefully, we can go to Ilha do Mel, an island off the coast of Paranagua, for a day or two. There is a really cool looking old train that takes people to the coast and I'm dying to go. I've heard some bad things about the bugs, but as it is cooling off, maybe that won't be a problem.

Later in May we will be going to Florianopolis again, this time for a conference that Zack must go to for school. I have no idea what I'll do there, but I'm going to go so I can see everyone again, speak Portuguese, and go to the beach. I will rarely ever turn down a trip to the beach. Though I was born in London, I am really a costal person by nature.

Pulse

Pulse-this is the club I want to go to soooooo badly. So far, no one wants to go with me :(. Actually, I've only asked two people, so maybe I'll have some luck soon. If anyone reading this wants to go to with me or knows anyone else who does, please let me know. I am dying to go, but I do NOT feel comfortable or safe going out to night spots alone.

Photos of Curitiba

Here are some shots of Curitiba. I think since I'm having camera issues, I will just start copying and pasting images from the web. Yes, it's kind of a copout, but even I am getting tired of looking at a photoless blog! From bottom left: the city, Passeio Publico (public park), and Museu Oscar Niemeyer. Though these aren't my pictures, I have been to the two places above.

Job Begins in Two Weeks

I'm officially hired now. I begin Saturday, April 14th (the 7th is Easter weekend). Zack is hired too and began yesterday when someone called out. He's going to be teaching the beginners. As it looks now, we'll both be teaching two classes each, that last two hours, two times a week. So, 8 hours per week for each of us. I can't wait!!!
